City frontliner’s story goes viral

ROXAS CITY—A picture of a frontliner taking a break while dealing with a seven-day shift has gone viral online.

The picture is said to be that of Anecita Kapaw-an, who is getting swab tests of repatriates in Hortus Botanicus in Bgy. Lawaan here.

Kapaw-an told The Philippine Star she is one of three medical technologists who have taken turns on working on seven-day workweeks.

Recently, the Inter-agency Task Force has approved the request of Mayor Ronnie Dadivas to have a 14-day break of the Hatid Probinsya program.

The Hatid Probinsya program allows repatriates to return to their respective provinces.

Kapaw-an advised the public to follow health safety protocols in this pandemic.

“Mag-wear ng mask and please, please stay at home,” she said.

“Kung wala kayong gagawin na importante sa labas, mabuti na lang sa bahay na lang kayo.”

“Maawa kayo sa mga frontliners kagaya ko,” Kapaw-an pleaded.

“Pray and kaya natin ito basta magkahawak-kamay tayo,” she added. (By Ralph John Mijares)
