A new Super Health Center officially opened its doors in the Municipality of Sigma.
“This Super Health Center is not just a building. This is about unity, compassion, and a strong belief that every Filipino has the right to accessible, efficient, and quality healthcare services” said Mayor Dante Eslabon in Filipino during the August 7, 2025 inauguration.
Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, chair of the Senate Committee on Health, emphasized the importance of Super Health Centers to rural and underserved communities.
Go emphasized that the establishment of Super Health Centers was a long-standing goal starting in 2022. These facilities aim to cater to minor medical needs such as consultations, check-ups, x-rays, and even childbirth, eliminating the need to travel to distant hospitals.
Go also noted that PhilHealth’s Konsulta Program is already available at the Sigma Super Health Center, encouraging citizens to register for accreditation.
“The PhilHealth subsidy has increased from ₱500 to ₱1,007 to strengthen the implementation of Universal Health Care,” he added.
Go clarified that while Malasakit Centers serve as medical assistance one-stop shops, the Super Health Center functions as a medium-type polyclinic capable of more comprehensive healthcare services.
The inauguration was also graced by Vice Governor James “Mitang” Magbanua and other provincial officials.
The Sigma Super Health Center is expected to become a vital facility, serving as a safe and accessible hub for healthcare in the area.
