Capiz 3-peat champs in rescue contest

For the 3rd consecutive year, the Province of Capiz emerged as the overall champion of the Regional Rescuelympics 2026, a competition among provincial rescue teams of Western Visayas.

The Capiz Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Unit (PDRRMU) bested the teams of Aklan, Antique, Guimaras, and Iloilo to clinch its third championship during the July 26-28, 2026 competition in San Jose de Buenavista, Antique.

The Office of Civil Defense (OCD-6) also awarded Capiz PDRRMU:

*Champion – Obstacle Course

*Best Runtime Award

*Best in Uniform

*Most Disciplined Award

*Best in High Angle Rescue Award

*Best in Patient Management Award

*2nd Place – Static Display

The Capiz Provincial Government under Governor Fredenil “Oto” Castro lauded the Capiz PDRRMU.

“Ila guid ginpamatud-an ang mataas nga lebel sang kahandaan, teknikal nga kahibalo, disiplina, kag maayo nga pagtinabangay, mga kalidad nga kinahanglanon sa pagresponde sa mga kalamidad kag emerhensya,” the Castro administration said.
