Since the time I have been traveling, one at the top of my bucket list has been Moscow, which has several epithets, two of which are “The Golden Domed” because of its great number of domes and cathedrals and “The Third Rome” because of the historic political and religious idea that Moscow is the successor to Rome and Byzantium.
And so finally before June ended this year, I was able to visit this city along the river bearing the same name as the Moscow River. Thanks to the fast and luxurious four-hour train ride from St. Petersburg.
Just like the other great cities that I was able to visit, in Moscow there are so many places to visit thus there are many things to write about too.
Good thing I was able to buy a souvenir book (as I was in the habit of doing whenever I would visit places) and in the first page there is an article, which somehow and hopefully will describe Moscow.
Let this suffice for this article:
“Moscow is not only one of the largest megalopolises of the world, but the city is abundant in monuments of history and culture. The focal point of them is the Kremlin … a unique architectural ensemble occupying an area of 28 hectares and encircled by a red-brick wall erected at the end of the 15th century by the Milanese and Venetian architects. The towers of the Kremlin with their picturesque many tiered stone tops created by Russian master craftsmen in the seventeenth century are especially beautiful.”
Will I be able to visit Moscow again or Russia for that matter? I am crossing my fingers. After all, I could always say I love Russia.
