The Capiz Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office (PTCAO) is getting stakeholders to explore digital technology, especially artificial intelligence (AI), in strengthening tourism.
Acting PTCAO Officer Rophine Visorio said the September 25, 2026 forum at Robinsons Roxas had discussions on how digital innovation and AI can be used to improve tourism promotion, marketing, accessibility, and overall experience of visitors.
The forum was anchored on the international theme of “Digital Agenda and Artificial Intelligence to Redesign Tourism”, which was set by the World Tourism Organization under the United Nations (UN) for the recent celebration of World Tourism Day.
The forum highlighted the Capiz Tourism Expo 2026 and Provincial Tourism Month. PTCAO partnered with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), ROBO CODE Technologies, and SUKII in organizing the forum.
The September 25-27, 2026 Capiz Tourism Expo also highlighted the contributions of tourism to the economic growth of Roxas City and Capiz province in general.
The expo also celebrated the tourism wins of the Province of Capiz including the recent 1st runner-up in the Best Booth during the 37th Philippine Travel Mart in Metro Manila. The “Balay Kawayan” booth became a fixture at the activity center of Robinsons Roxas.
Last March 2026, the Capiz Provincial Government under the administration of Governor Fredenil Castro was the big winner in the Western Visayas Tourism Awards when it took home eight major awards.
The Department of Tourism (DOT) regional office awarded the Province of Capiz as Best Tourism-Oriented Local Government Unit – Excellence Award in Tourism Governance and Development (Provincial Category); Tourism Champion in Product Development Award; Tourism Champion in Promotion of Multi-Dimensional Tourism Products Award; and Tourism Champion in Gender Mainstreaming Award.
The Capiz Tourism Expo 2026 also had other activities such as the Maragtas Cultural Show; Kalinga One: A Cultural Show by the 1st District; Batang 90s: Balik-Tanaw, Balak Saya Cultural Show by 2nd District; Lutong Capisnon: Cooking Demonstration; and Capture the Taste: Schools Cooking Demonstration.
