I wish to address recent reports concerning the warrant of arrest issued against me in connection with a cyber libel case.
I have already posted bail in connection with this case, and the court has issued an Order of Release. My legal team continues to handle the matter through the proper legal channels. I respect the authority of the court and will exercise my rights and present my defense through the judicial process.
At the same time, I cannot ignore the political context surrounding these developments. The political attacks against me intensified after I changed alliances. Given that experience, I am concerned that I am being subjected to political harassment. I am raising this concern openly while recognizing that the court must resolve the charge independently, based on the evidence and the law.
I stand firmly by my decision to work with our present political allies. In my view, the progress our province has seen over the past year affirms that choice. Having seen what successive administrations have delivered over the years, I believe our present direction offers meaningful opportunities for our communities. My decision was guided by where I believed I could best contribute to serving our people.
Political differences are part of democracy. They should be debated through our records, policies, and programs, with the welfare of our constituents at the center.
To my constituents, supporters, and loved ones, I understand your concern. Let me assure you that I remain committed to my responsibilities as Provincial Board Member of the 1st District of Capiz. I will face this case, and I will continue doing my job.
Out of respect for the pending proceedings, I will reserve discussion of the evidence and the details of our defense for the proper forum. I trust that the court will hear and decide the case fairly and impartially.
To my family, supporters, and fellow Capiznons, thank you for your continued trust and prayers. Your support strengthens my resolve to serve with dedication and dignity.
