A HOUSE at the edge of a river bank at Sitio Tinapay in Brgy. Ilaya, Ivisan, Capiz was swept away by a fl ash flood after heavy rainfall on July 10.
Fire Officer 2 Gabriel Dumo-os, Ivisan Fire Station information officer, said two more families were forced to evacuate to their relatives to ensure their safety.
Dumo-os also said the houses of the evacuees were made of mixed materials, concrete flooring, and light
materials on the walls and roofs.
The barangay officials were directed not to allow the evacuated families to return to their respective houses until it is safe.
Dimoos further said the river bank needs rip wrapping because of the continuous landslide. They have reported this to the local government unit for proper disposition.*
