A certificate of recognition, attesting that Carolina Badana of Brgy. Yatingan in Pontevedra town is the oldest living woman in the province, was handed over by Governor Esteban Evan Contreras to the centenarian last month.

She also received a wheelchair, umbrella, jacket, face mask, alcohol, vitamins, ascorbic acid, jerry can hygiene kit, food packs, t-shirt/polo shirt and cash incentive from the provincial government.

Badana is also the oldest person in Capiz who has been vaccinated against coronavirus disease.

She received Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen COVID-19 vaccine.

“All must be vaccinated, especially the elderly for their protection against COVID-19,” she said in Hiligaynon.
