According to the Commission on Elections (Comelec), 15 candidates failed to file their Statements of Contributions and Expenditures (SOCEs) before the June 11, 2025 deadline.

Atty. Salud Milagros Villanueva, Comelec provincial election supervisor, said the candidates may face penalties for failure to do so.

Under the law, candidates must file their SOCEs within 30 days after election day—regardless they won or not.

Villanueva reiterated that winning candidates cannot assume their posts on June 30 without submission of SOCEs.

“Even if you have taken your oath of office, you cannot assume the office until you have proof of submitting your SOCE,” she said.

Villanuea also warned that continued non-compliance may lead to penalties including the maximum of perpetual disqualification from holding public office.
