1,507 families to graduate from 4Ps

ROXAS CITY — Some 1,507 families in Capiz are about to graduate from the government’s Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).

This is because their children have already reached 18 years old, which would disqualify them from the program, the Department of Social Welfare and Development said.

The 4Ps was implemented in 2008, with beneficiaries can receive assistance for more than 10 years as long as their children have not reached 18 years old.

“Graduation in the Pantawid must be celebrated, must be thought of positively, and most importantly, must be a dream of every 4Ps beneficiary. The majority of these households have improved their well-being since the government has invested in their children’s education and health,” Pantawid Division Chief Belen Gebusion said.

“We are also optimistic that even without the grant from 4Ps, our exiting beneficiaries will continue to live the values and practices learned from the program through the Family Development Session,” Gebusion added.*
