Kiann Gee Roxas and Shang Carlo Alapa of Filamer Christian University emerged victorious and brought home medals from an international dancesport competition in Malaysia.
Roxas won a silver medal in Latin American Novice 1 while Alapa clinched bronze in Latin American Novice 2 of the Negeri Sembilan International Dancesport Championship last August 9.
Coached by Philip Lui Deocadiz, the duo said their training and preparation for the competition paid off.
“Na agyan namon ang madamo nga hugna sang preparasyon, lakip na ang mabaskog nga training kag qualifying rounds (We have gone through many stages of preparation, including intense training and qualifying rounds),” said Roxas.
Amid the challenges, Roxas and Alapa rose to the occasion and delivered winning performances.
With their respective wins, Roxas and Alapa want to become motivators for others in Capiz to hone their dancing skills and eventually be able to compete in both national and international competitions.
