298 new cops undergo 6-month field training

Some 298 new police officers of Police Regional Office-6 are set to undergo a six-month field training program at the different police stations in Western Visayas.

The 298 of Public Safety Field Training Program Class 2020-02 “Kinaadman” – 42 females and 256 males – will be deployed in Pavia, Iloilo, Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Bacolod City, and Iloilo City.

The 298 police trainees will be “on the job” to have experience and observe police functions, particularly in patrolling, investigation and traffic law enforcement.

They will be accompanied by their field training officers who will guide and orient them in actual police duties.

Moreover, the FTP is designed to equip the new breed of cops with the right knowledge, attitude, skills and values that will prepare them once they will be assigned to units after their training.

Brig. Gen. Patrick Villacorte, PRO-6 deputy regional director for administration, in his speech during the sendoff ceremony at Camp Martin Delgado in Iloilo City recently, reminded the FTPs to follow and obey their training officers.

“You must be healthy and do not put your FTOs in trouble, they will teach you and guide you as much as they can base on their values and experiences,” he added.*PRO-6 photo
