The barangay annual budget and its utilization, along with environmental protection and disaster plans were among the priority issues discussed in a consultative dialogue with the 47
barangay officials of Roxas City held in Kapiz Mansion, on Aug. 15.
Present in the dialogue were Roxas City Mayor Ronnie Dadivas, Department of the Interior and Local Government-Roxas officer Ginno Salamanca, city chief of staff and City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) head Ronald Amigo, City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) chief Denis “Pong” Saneo and other officials.
Salamanca urged all barangay officials to prepare their respective budgets for the year 2024 to be submitted on or before December 31 this year.
He advised them to allocate a certain budget for training and seminars for barangay officials to be elected this October 30 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections.
Salamanca also announced the cancellation of the Barangay and SK Excel Award this year, one of the city’s best practices to recognize barangays for their compliance with the Local
Government Code.
For Dadivas, he urged everyone to work hard together. He also underscored the importance of having aligned programs and projects for smooth implementation.*
