A 50-year-old father of five was shot dead last July 24 in Mambusao town.
The victim was identified as Esmael Graciadas Bastian, who was killed while sleeping
in his house in Barangay Maralag.
Police Captain Shaney P. Allanic, Mambusao police chief, stated that the victim’s
daughter, Jinky, was shocked to learn that her father was shot in the head by an unidentifi ed suspect.
Jinky told police that she, her father, and her lady friend had dinner together before the incident. Her father immediately went to sleep around 8 PM.
By 10 PM, Jinky and her friend heard something similar to gunshots. But they ignored it because they thought no else was around.
It was only around midnight of July 25 when they discovered there were bloodstains on the pillow when they tried to get extra pillows from the father’s room.
Meanwhile, the police are still investigating and trying to identify the suspect and a possible motive for the murder.
The police learned that the victim has been separated from his wife for almost three years.
