ROXAS CITY — Almost 80 percent of the residents of Barangay Baybay here have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccines.

For the first batch of residents, they got vaccinated with Sinovac, while the second batch got AstraZeneca, Barangay Captain Rey Magallanes said.

Some residents would get their second dose in June while others in August, Magallanes said.

Initially, the residents were hesitant of getting the vaccine, Magallanes said.

Street vendors at the People’s Park have been allowed in the area again, adding that barangay officials and the police continue to enforce the minimum health standards to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.*
