Army, police distribute food packs to IPs

As a prelude to the Philippine Independence Day celebration, the 301st Infantry Brigade of the Philippine Army, members of Dumarao Police Station, and other stakeholders distributed food packs to the indigenous people (IP) or the Aetas in Barangay Aglalana, Dumarao, Capiz on June 11.

There were 100 Aetas, led by Baptist church Pastor Elias Valencia, who received the food packs during the program.

According to Cpt. Hazel Joy Durotan, civil-military operations officer of 301 IB, Brigadier General Marion Sison, commander of 301 IB, lauded the efforts of the troops, the police, and the stakeholders for the initiative.

He said, “It only shows that in the hard times, especially during this pandemic, the government forces and various stakeholders maximize their resources to deliver these goods to the beneficiaries who need it the most.”*
