The Philippine Army underscored the role of the Church in ensuring peace.
The 3rd Infantry Division of the Philippine Army through its 301st Infantry Brigade led by Col. Orlando Edralin, deputy commander, had a round table discussion with the leaders of the Catholic hierarchy in Panay Island on February 18 for a stronger and better partnership with the religious sector.
The dialogue with Iloilo Archbishop Jose Romeo Lazo at the Archdiocese of Jaro in Iloilo City was also participated by the directors of Social Action Centers of Iloilo, Capiz, Aklan, and Antique.
Capt. Cenon Pancito III, head of the public affairs of the 3ID, said the parties have come up with an agreement to converge and work together in future endeavors that will uphold the people’s welfare and the society as a whole.
Edralin expressed gratitude to the church leaders for welcoming the Army and talked about the future collaboration of the two key sectors in the society.
The 3ID underscored the significant role of the religious sector in attaining peace and development, Pancito said.*
