Barangays in Capiz province were recently awarded for programs in environmental excellence.
This was as the Capiz Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (CaPENRO) recently awarded
the winners for CaTinlo Year 2 at the Capiz Provincial Capitol in Roxas City.
Ronald Allan F. Cullo, provincial government assistant department head and acting CaPENRO head said
the awarding highlighted importance of collective efforts in preserving Capiz’s natural beauty.
The CaTinlo Year 2 saw the participation from Municipal Environment and Natural Resource Offices
(MENROs) and barangays. It showcased a united front for environmental excellence.
Distinguished guests during the awarding Mayors Jose O. Villanueva of Sapian and Felipe Neri N. Yap of
Ivisan.
The highlight was the recognition of the local government units (LGUs) of 15 municipalities and the City
of Roxas for their active participation in CaTinlo Year 2.
Each Municipality received a Plaque of Recognition as a tangible token of gratitude. The top three
performing LGUs during the province-wide clean-up drive, Capiz Matinlo 2023, were acknowledged:
Top 1: Municipality of Sapian with Barangay Dapdapan
Top 2: Municipality of Ivisan with Barangay Basiao
Top 3: Municipality of Maayon with Barangay Jebacca
