Ceres bus owners vows aidto Antique bus victims

VALLACAR Transit Inc. (VTI), the operator of the Ceres bus that fell off a cliff in the municipality of Hamtic in Antique province last December 5, vowed to provide aid to families of the fatalities and the wounded.
The VTI announced it provided financial assistance to families of the 18 fatalities and 11 wounded passengers.
The injured passengers are admitted at Western Visayas Medical Center and Iloilo Mission Hospital in
Iloilo City as well as Angel Salazar Memorial Hospital (ASMH) in the municipality of San Jose de Buenavista, Antique.
“The company’s representatives also said they are working on logistics to transport the bodies of the vacationing family from Koronadal City,
South Cotabato and the Kenyan missionary,” said the Antique Provincial Government in a statement.
VTI established “Ceres Help Desk” in the police station of Hamtic and the ASMH. Ceres employees have been deployed to assist the release of medical needs and extension of financial support to the families of the victims who have not yet received the money.
Meanwhile, VTI management has been also mourning the loss of its four
employees.
Despite the four deaths, VTI management remains proud and consoled with the families of bus driver Ricky Serios, bus inspector Jayvon Fandagani, bus conductor Wilmar Marcelino, and bus inspector Jevy Bordago.
In particular, Fandagani and Marcelino were hailed as heroes for saving the lives of three passengers. Fandgani shielded a teacher while Marcelino shielded a pregnant woman and her child.
“They are worthy of emulation. They have chosen to save the lives of the passengers even at the expense of their own,” VTI said.
