THE Holy Father Pope Francis appointed the Most Rev. Victor Barnuevo Bendico as the fourth Archbishop of Capiz on March
3, 2023.
He succeeded the Most Rev. Jose Fuerte Advincula Jr., now a cardinal and archbishop of Manila.
Archbishop Designate Bendico was born on January 22, 1960, to Angeles Bendico and Cirila Barnuevo in Roxas City.
He was ordained on April 14, 1984, by the Most Rev. Antonio F. Frondosa.
He attended St. Mary’s Academy of Capiz for his elementary education and St. Pius X Seminary for his high school formation.
For his philosophical and theological studies, he went to the University of Santo Tomas Central Seminary in Manila.
He received his Doctorate in Sacred Liturgy at the Pontifical Institute of St. Anselm in Rome.
He was appointed as Bishop of Baguio on October 1, 2016.
The canonical installation and possession will be on May 3, 2023, at the Immaculate
Conception Metropolitan Cathedral, Roxas City.*
