The Boy Scouts of the Philippines awarded Mark Anthony G. Ortiz and elected him to its National Executive Board.

Foremost, Ortiz received the Gold Tamaraw Award for his exceptional and distinguishable service to the Scouting Movement during the 69th Annual National Council Meeting in Cebu City last May 20-22, 2026.

“This prestigious award is a testament to his unwavering dedication, exemplary leadership and invaluable contributions, which have significantly advanced the vision and mission of the Boy Scout of the Philippines,” noted the award signed by National President Emilio B. Aquino and Secretary General Atty. Cedrick G. Train.

As the highest distinction, the Gold Tamaraw Award of Ortiz was for his remarkable commitment when he participated in international and national scouting events as well as spearheaded local, regional and national activities.

Ortiz was also instrumental in driving up membership among adult leaders and scouts as well as sustaining key partnerships with external stakeholders.

Meanwhile, Ortiz is also going to serve the National Executive Board for 2026-2027 as one of the newly-elected sectoral representatives.

The Capiz Council is proud of the achievement of Ortiz, who is the council’s chairperson.

“We look forward to the impact of your leadership and service in shaping the future of Scouting nationwide,” the Capiz Council said.

Joining Ortiz as Capiz delegates were Council Scout Executive Warren Paredes, Council Scout Representative Warren Paredes, and Council Scout Representative Mestica Rose Besana.

Scout Leader Jarde and Pares were also awarded the Bronze USA Aawrd.
