Business blues

Businesses deal with many problems. Two of those problems are: (1) whether you care about how a company’s actions impact others and (2) how relocations affect income.

While listening to a recent episode of The Capiz Times sa Kahanginan, I heard the Traffic Management Unit (TMU) head say that certain businesses along Roxas Avenue are given human consideration when it comes to letting customers park.

The TMU is not to be blamed for this. It is the fault of the business owner and the builder of commercial spaces for not providing ample parking spaces.

Dearest business people: If you want ample parking space for your customers, get yourself a place with a wide area for parking at huwag mong gawing parking lot ang buong mundo. Bringing lots of business to a certain city or municipality does not give you an excuse to cause inconvenience.

On to the next part, which is about relocations that affect the income of businesses.

Whenever street vendors get relocated somewhere else, there is a bigger chance they earn less income.

The local government units (LGUs), which implements relocating street vendors, should help find a solution by doing a bit of marketing.

Social media posts would do just fine or cheap paper posters that tell patrons onsite that the vendors will be relocated somewhere else starting on a certain date.

These onsite or online promotions would be helpful both to the street vendors and their patrons.
