ROXAS CITY — The Capiz Electric Cooperative (Capelco) has warned the public not to engage or transact with a fake Facebook page posing as an official representative of the power utility firm.
The fake social media account has been receiving bill payments through GCash and PayMaya from unsuspecting consumers.
Capelco is still setting up its online payment platform, it said in a June 21 press statement.
Consumers are advised to wait for the firm’s official announcement regarding the online payment option.
Capelco said that their official Facebook account is @CAPELCO.Official.*
