Capitol launches Balik Gubat project

The Capiz Provincial Government launched the “Balik Gubat” project.
The Capiz Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (CaPENRO), in partnership with the Capiz
Ecology and Conservation Center (CECC), led the November 24 launching at Capiz State University-
Pontevedra Campus in Pontevedra.
The Balik Gubat project sets out to restore, develop, and raise awareness about the importance of ferns
in the tropical forest ecosystem and their associated benefits.
Acting CaPENRO Chief Ronald Allan Cullo, Dr. Harold O. Buenvenida of CECC and FLP Officer Alvin
Catalan led the declaration of the pledge of commitment for “concerted effort towards ecological
preservation and fostering a deeper understanding of the intricate connections between flora and the
environment. “
Also present were CAPSU-Pontevedra Campus Administrator Dr. Honey Lee E. Casa and CAPSU-
Pontevedra Dean of College of Education, Arts, and Science Dr. Judel Protacio.
