The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) distributed a total of P1.259 million for all the local government units (LGUs) in Capiz during the agency’s distribution of lotto share for the local government units in Western Visayas, Sept. 8, at the Provincial Capitol here.
The amount was part of the P8.8-million lotto share for at least 55 LGUs in Western Visayas.
It is the 5 percent charity fund generated from the lotto sales in concerned LGUs’ respective areas for January to June this year.
The distribution was led by PCSO general manager Melquiades A. Robles, PCSO Board of Director Jennifer Liongson Guevara, and PCSO Visayas department manager Gloria C. Ybanez, among others.
In his message, Robles underscored the PCSO’s charity assistance and commitment that all local government units in the country will be given a Patient Transport Vehicle (PTV) under the administration of Pres. Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.
Based on the PCSO records, at least nine PTVs were given to Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital in Roxas City, Tapaz District Hospital in Tapaz town, Bailan District Hospital in Pontevedra town, and Mambusao District Hospital in Mambusao town as well as Roxas City and the municipalities of Pontevedra, Panitan, President Roxas and Sigma in Capiz in 2022.
Three PTV units were also donated to Capiz beneficiaries in 2020.
“Ang PCSO, hindi uurong sa pagtulong,” said Robles, as quoted from the Capiz Provincial Government Communications Group social media post.
The lotto share for Capiz was received by vice-governor Jaime Magbanua, Roxas City mayor Ronnie Dadivas, and municipal mayors.
Five wheelchairs were also donated by the PCSO to district hospitals in the province during the activity.
Meanwhile, Gov. Castro has thanked the PCSO for helping the provincial government in its efforts to also help the poor as well as support its program on health services delivery.
All the PCSO branch managers in the region also attended the lotto share distribution.
