The inflation rate of the Province of Capiz dropped to 3.8 percent in August 2026 from the 4.1 percent recorded in July 2026.
Not only that, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) also noted that Capiz remains to have the lowest inflation rate in the entire Western Visayas for August 2026.
According to PSA Capiz OIC Head and Senior Statistical Specialist Rosiebelle A. Beluso, the biggest contributors to inflation were food and non-alcoholic beverages at a 37.2 percent share.
This was followed by transportation at 25.2 percent and housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels at 13.4 percent.
Among the contributors to inflation were rice, gasoline, leafy vegetables, electricity, and alcoholic beverages.
According to Beluso, inflation in Capiz is likely to increase in the coming months as Christmas approaches, which usually increases demand for products and services.
