Acting Provincial Health Officer Dr. Ramon Alex Nolasco said that the 2,440 doses of Sinovac vaccine initially allocated by the Department of Health (DOH)–6 to the province were all utilized as of March 15.
The COVID-19 vaccination rollout dubbed “Resbakuna” kicked off March 10 with the inoculation of Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital (RMPH) medical frontliners.
RMPH Officer-In-Charge of Chief of Hospital Dr. Edmarie Tormon led the hospital vaccinees for the first dose of Sinovac.
The province received 650 doses of the Sinovac vaccine on March 8 and another 1,790 doses of Sinovac on March 10.
Based on the Provincial Health Office records, a total of 650 doses were distributed to RMPH, 180 doses for Bailan District Hospital in Pontevedra town, 150 doses for Mambusao District Hospital in Mambusao town, 120 doses for Sen. Gerardo M. Roxas Memorial District Hospital in Dao town, and 90 doses for Tapaz District Hospital in Tapaz town.
A provincial ceremonial launching of “Resbakuna” in the province was conducted at the Poolside Pavilion of the Villareal Stadium in Roxas City on March 11 or before the vaccination roll out in the hospitals.
“We are really optimistic that here in the province we can achieve our goal which is to immunize our target population and that no one will be left behind unvaccinated,” said Provincial DOH Representative Dr. Mary Joy Castroverde during the turnover of Sinovac vaccine to RMPH.
She also assured that the province will be given the second dose of the vaccine. (PIA Capiz)
