For the period of July 2026, the Province of Capiz registered the lowest inflation rate in Western Visayas region at 4.1%.
The Philippine Statistics Authority-Capiz (PSA-Capiz) reiterated that even with the slight increase from the 3.9% inflation rate recorded in June, Capiz still had the lowest prices for basic goods and services in the entire region.
PSA-Capiz OIC Rosiebelle A. Beluso emphasized that Capiz’s inflation rate is lower by 3.7% in comparison to the regional inflation rate of 7.8% last month. On the other hand, Antique province recorded the highest inflation rate at 9.5%.
According to Beluso, the slight increase in Capiz’s inflation is tied to the increase of prices of rice at 7.4%, gasoline at 33.5%, other leafy vegetables at 27.4%, electricity at 7.8%, and spirits and liquors at 10.1%.
Other leading contributors to rise in inflation last July 2026 are food and non-alcoholic beverages at 3.8%, cereals and cereal products at 7.4%, vegetables and tubers at 10.9%, transportation at 11%, and housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels at 3.5%.
