Capiz police celebrates PCR Month

The month of July is celebrated nationwide by the Philippine National Police as Police Community Relations Month.

In line with this,  the Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) has conducted series of activities with various sectors.

This include the Journalism Enhancement Seminar as a joint endeavor with the Capiz Times Publishing, and the Capiz Provincial Advisory Group, conducted on July 27 at the CPPO Transformation Hall, Brgy. Lanot, Road City.

Participants were Police Community Relation Officers in every police station from the municipalities of Capiz and Roxas City.

CPPO under its director, Col. Jerome Apuyog, Jr., and Edalyn  Acta, operations manager of Capiz Times, have designed the seminar to impart to the police the strategy in news writing and photo stories.

Topics include digital photography by Paula Jane Acta; photo journalism/captioning by Edith Colmo; and news writing by Virgilio Clavel, all of Capiz Times; video editing by Pat. Jessie Rey Catalogo, assistant PIO; social media by SSg. Andy Delena, PIO, CPPO;  and information development operation by Maj Ruby  Magallanes,  Asst. PCADU/PIO, all of CPPO.

According to Maj. Magallanes, the seminar will further enhance the skills of the police community relation officers being the frontliners in the community.

Other activities during the PCR Month Celebration include tree planting which was participated by different sectors.*
