Cardinal Jose Advincula Jr. distinctly became the first and only Capiznon to have been in the conclave, which recently elected Pope Leo XIV at the Vatican.
Cardinal Advincula joined Cardinals Luis Antonio Tagle and Pablo Virgilio in choosing American-Peruvian Robert Francis Prevost as the new leader of the Roman Catholic Church worldwide.
Cardinal Advincula also attended the first mass of the Pope Leo XIV inside the Sistine Chapel.
A native of Dumalag, Advincula was the archbishop of Capiz when he was appointed as cardinal in November 2020 by the late Pope Francis.
