After a spate of robbery threats outside its main campus in Roxas City, the Capiz State University (CAPSU) is strengthening its vigilance.
“While these attempts occurred outside of university, we are closely monitoring safety and security issues like this,” said CAPSU in a statement.
The state university also reported the cases to the Philippine National Police (PNP) for the latter to take action and deploy cops outside the campus.
With the robbery threats faced by some of its students, the university is taking steps to ease the trauma.
“The University’s Guidance and Counseling Office is also working with the students concerned for appropriate psychosocial and emotional intervention,” CAPSU said.
“The students who were involved in the incident were also given the option to take their classes under the flexible learning mode,” the statement said.
The university administration also urged for vigilance.
“We encourage all members of the CAPSU community to remain vigilant; refrain from using their phones while walking outside; avoid walking alone, especially at night; and report any suspicious activity to the appropriate authorities immediately,” it added.
