The Commission on Election (Comelec) recently junked the disqualification case filed against incumbent Vice Mayor Lemuel “Aran” Vestidas of the Municipality of Jamindan.
Based on the decision of the Comelec 2nd Division dated March 4, 2025, the petition was filed by Patricio V. Villasis, who is a candidate running against Vestidas for vice mayor in the May 2025 midterm elections.
Filed last January 16, 2025, the petition questioned the re-election bid of Vestidas as vice mayor. It was not stated the ground of the disqualification case.
In the ruling of the Comelec 2nd Division, Villasis failed to include “proof of affidavit service showing that the petitioner duly served the petition with complete annexes” against Vestidas.
