Comelec sets COC filing for BSKE on July 3 to 7

The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has released the calendar of activities for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Elections on October 30.
 
Provincial COMELEC officer Wil Arceño said there is a 100 percent probability that the elections will push through, “Kay indi na kami ka-afford if next year because it’ll be the preparation for 2025 elections.”

The filing of the certificates of candidacy will start from July 3 to 7.

Candidates for both polls should be literate, Filipino citizens, registered voters, and resident of the barangay for at least a year; Sangguniang Kabataan,  candidates must be 18-24 years old on or before the election. 

In relation to Section 7 of  Republic Act 6679, the COMELEC emphasizes several prohibited acts during the campaign period such as removing or preventing the distribution of lawful election propaganda, posting and using illegal campaign materials, donations in cash or any kind before and during the election day; appointing special policemen or agents, using armored land, water or air crafts, and releasing or disbursement of public funds. 

Moreover, Arceño reminded the Capiznons to not engage in vote-buying and the candidates to be honest in filing their contribution expenditures and be mindful of the five-peso budget per registered voter to avoid disqualification from the poll.

Furthermore, the anticipated synchronized polls will be operated manually, and the number of precincts will be announced once clustered and approved.*
