‘Court order not needed to remove Baskog antenna’

ROXAS CITY — Capiz Provincial Administrator Edwin Monares said that a court order is not needed to remove the antenna of Baskog Radyo at the Capiz Government and Business Center.

Monares said that the law of the lessor and lessee was only being implemented.

He said that there was no ordinance for the building roof rental.

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan passed an ordinance to allow the roof rental at P20 per square meter but it was vetoed by Governor Esteban Evan Contreras, Monares said.

Monares said that he would let the court decide on the Baskog Radyo antenna issue, adding that “I have no intention of silencing them.”

Baskog Radyo, in a Facebook post on February 6, said: “Wala sang kaso nga ginfile sa Baskog Radyo.

“Ang anuman nga tikang nga pagguba, pagkakas ukon demolition sang anuman nga propredad sang Baskog Radyo ang dapat nga nasandig sa layi kag mandu sang korte,” it also said.

The antenna was not removed, but the station could not go back on air on its 102.5MHz frequency.

The station continues with its broadcasts on its Facebook page.*
