COVID-19 testing lab open to walk-in clients

ROXAS CITY – The Roxas City Diagnostic and Laboratory Center, the first coronavirus disease (COVID-19) laboratory in the Capiz province, will accommodate walk-in clients who want to undergo swab tests against the virus.

Mayor Ronnie Dadivas, on his Facebook page, said many residents have been asking him when the laboratory will be open to walk-in clients who want to avail of the service.

“Nahibaluan ko nga madamo na sang kasimanwa naton ang nagapamangkot kon san-o magabukas ang Roxas City Diagnostic and Laboratory Center para sa mga walk-in clients, indibidwal o kumpaniya para sa RT-PCR (real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction) test bangud sa madasig naton nga pagpaguwa sang resulta,” Dadivas said.

The laboratory was inaugurated on October 20 at Hortus Botanicus in Barangay Milibili in this city.

Eligible residents, or those who had close contact with a positive patient or a high-risk individual, can have the test for free, and that they must have an Identification card to prove they are a resident of the city.

The Roxas City Diagnostic and Laboratory Center is the 10th laboratory in Western Visayas, and the first in Capiz, Dr. Marlyn Convocar, Department of Health Region 6 director, said.

Meanwhile, walk-in clients who want to take the RT-PCR test for travel, employment, or as outpatients with a doctor’s referral must contact the Roxas City Health Office E-Consulta Facebook page.
