COVID-19 vaccination simulation exercises set

The Provincial Health Office of Capiz will conduct a simulation exercise on COVID-19 immunization on February 15 at the Poolside of the Villareal Stadium to thresh out possible problems which may slow down the process of the actual inoculation of the anti-coronavirus shots in the coming months.

“Probably, the exercise will be adopted by the various vaccination sites during the implementation phase of vaccination,” said newly appointed Provincial Health Officer Dr. Ramon Alex Nolasco.

The PHO has identified 28 vaccination sites in the province which include all the rural health units as well as the Roxas City Health Office, public and private hospitals, and the poolside in the stadium.

A team from the PHO will carry out the immunization at the poolside.

The vaccination campaign in Capiz will immunize about 568,364 individuals, or 70 percent of the total population, for the province to attain herd immunity from the COVID-19 infection.

The provincial government has developed its COVID-19 vaccination plan last January that will serve as a roadmap in the conduct of vaccination as a major COVID-19 response program of the province.

The plan will also provide technical guidance and direction to all immunization program managers, implementers, service providers, and partners in the vaccination program implementation.

A Technical Working Group composed of various working committees has also been created to ensure the success of the campaign aimed to save lives, revive hopes and shape the future. (PIA Capiz)
