COVID QR code ordinance OK’d

ROXAS CITY — The city council of Roxas has recently approved the ordinance creating the Digitized Roxas City Epidemiological Contact Tracing System (DIRECTS) for the city’s COVID-19 contact tracing system.

With the measure, residents will be asked to present a Quick Response code when they go to commercial establishments, government and private offices, educational institutions, and other crowded places.

The DIRECTS would restrict those in the COVID-19 high-risk contact or suspect list and identify those who should still be in quarantine.

The citizen cards are free.

Only 30 days shall be given for the usage of the manual logbook in establishments to give time for people to register for the free QR cards.

A “No QR code, no entry” policy will then be implemented.

The data shall be kept for 30 days to prevent the server from becoming full.

To register, residents should go to directs.ph website.*
