Crime drops in WV in 2022

THE Police Regional Office-6 (PRO-6) reported that crimes in Western Visayas dropped by 8.66 percent in 2022 compared to 2021 with 3,047 cases recorded.
PRO-6 director Brig. Gen. Leo Francisco said the region recored 2,783 eight focus crimes, which include murder, homicide, physical injury, rape, robbery, theft, and carnapping.
Of the 2,783 incidents, Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office topped the list with 700, followed by Iloilo Police Provincial Office with 624, Capiz Police Provincial Office with 389, Iloilo City Police Office with 382, Bacolod City Police Office with 257, Aklan Police Provincial Office with 209, Antique Police Provincial Office with 151 and Guimaras Police Provincial Office with 71 crimes. Francisco said the significant reduction of crimes across the region can be attributed to the regular conduct of Enhanced Managing Police Operations of all concerned units, the active support of different local government units, barangay officials, force multipliers and Philippine National Police advocacy support groups.
Francisco lauded all unit commanders for their efficient leadership, as well as the personnel for their commitment in reducing crime incidents in their respective areas of responsibility.*
