Roxas City—In response to serious threats of COVID-19 (Corona Virus Disease), City Mayor Ronnie Dadivas issued four Executive Orders (EO) March 12.
EO No. 9 orders and declares strict compliance for self-quarantine as preventive measure against COVID-19.
Per the Order, the period of self-quarantine is fourteen days in accordance with the rules and protocols established by the Department of Health (DOH) to all returning residents of Roxas and visitors with travel history to areas with COVID-19 and outside the country.
Pursuant to Duterte’s Proclamation No. 922 (declaring a State of Public Health Emergency throughout the country), Dadivas also issued Executive Orders
10, 11 and 12 providing for, respectively:
1) Termination of all day-care service programs and further suspending all moving-up ceremonies (or school graduation).
2) Suspension of—until further advice—all mass gatherings, social events (concerts and barangay fiestas), public and/or private school activities (preschool to high school levels), rallies and other similar activities and gatherings.
3) Suspension of classes in all levels in both public and privates schools in Roxas City effective March 13, 2020 until further notice.
Dadivas added that a Crisis Command Center will be put up at the Conference Room at the Mayor’s Office in Roxas City Hall.
According to City Health Officer Lory Cahilog, the designated crisis center coordinator, during a worst case scenario, persons under investigation (PUI) can be quarantined in selected schools in barangays Dayao, Culasi and Lawaan and other public schools in the 9-star barangays including Cong. Ramon A. Arnaldo High School.
