DepEd 6 to build classrooms in Capiz

The Department of Education (DepEd) 6 through the Jalandoni Estate Fund (JEF) will put up two school buildings with one-classroom each, in this province.

The classrooms will be constructed at Loctugan Integrated Farm School (LIFS) in Barangay Loctogan, Roxas City and at Manoling Elementary School (MES) in President Roxas town.

These form part of the seven school buildings of its kind that the DepEd will construct in Western Visayas.

DepEd- Division of Capiz Public Information Officer Glenda Botin stated that the budget is from the Jalandoni Estate Fund and DepEd 6 regional director Ramil Uytico accepted the donation for the construction of the one-classroom school building.

She added that the building for MES has a budget of P2,120,184.86 wherein a total of 142 current enrollees are expected to benefit from the facility to be constructed.

For her part, DepEd- Division of Roxas City Information Officer Maribeth Baldonado said that the JEF has allocated P1,849,749.59 for the construction of the one-classroom school building for LIFS with more than 700 secondary students to benefit from the project.

In a Facebook post of LIFS, the management expressed its anticipation and excitement for the new classroom that will become “a sanctuary for learning, growth, and endless possibilities.”

Alongside Uytico, DepEd Division of Roxas City Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Roel Bermejo, LIFS principal Mario G. Cerujano, and Roxas City mayor Ronnie Dadivas, among others, attended the groundbreaking ceremony of LIFS one-classroom school building on June 27. (PIA Capiz)
