The Department of Education (DepEd) is all set for the opening of school year 2025-2026 in public schools across Roxas City on June 16.

In a press conference, School Division Superintendent Dr. Renato T. Ballesteros said preparatory works will start with a kickoff ceremony for the Brigada Eskwela on Monday, June 9.

“The purpose of Brigada Eskwela is that the school are going to only welcome students when the classes open,” said Ballesteros.

“That this Brigada Eskwela will not burden the students in cleaning the classrooms,” added Ballesteros.

There will be a caravan before the opening ceremony at the Roxas City School for Philippine Craftsmen in Barangay Lanot.

Each school in the city district have their own Brigada Eskwela that will have the participation of the parents and teachers association (PTA) as well as key stakeholders.

Aside from physical cleaning of schools, teachers and school staff are also preparing for enrollment and other activities.
