DOE sets energy efficiency, conservation drive for Capiz

AN information, education and communication (IEC) campaign on Government Energy Management Program (GEMP) for the Public Information Officers in Capiz will be conducted by the Department of
Energy (DOE), August 17, at the Training Hall of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management
Office (PDRRMO) building, Governor’s Mansion, Roxas City.

“It is aimed to create a collaborative effort in disseminating information on the role of the public sector
on the benefits of energy efficiency and conservation (EE&C) and in providing guidance for the government offices on their roles and responsibilities in establishing fundamental EE&C policies, plans, programs and activities in their localities and agencies,” said DOE Visayas Field Office OIC director lawyer
Russ Mark T. Gamallo in a letter for the participants.

The information campaign, in partnership with the Philippine Information Agency Regional Office 6, will highlight on the presentations about GEMP for local government units, EE & C in government buildings and fuel conservation tips.

Capiz Governor Fredenil Castro was invited to grace and deliver a message during the activity.

DOE sets energy efficiency, conservation drive for Capiz A separate orientation on GEMP is also scheduled by the DOE for the City Planning and Development Office at the Roxas City Hall and Provincial Planning and Development Office at the Provincial Capitol.

Republic Act 11285 or the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act highlights the role of the government
