ROXAS CITY — The Department of Health (DOH) has given the Roxas City Diagnostic and Laboratory Center another year to operate.
The new license will run until December 31, 2021.
“Ini indikasyon nga nakita sang DOH ang pagka-epektibo sang guinahimo naton nga COVID-19 tests para masiguro ang kaluwasan sang pumoluyo sang Roxas City,” Mayor Ronnie Dadivas said.
The DOH Research Institute for Tropical Medicine Molecular Laboratory gave the laboratory a 100-percent proficiency rate for the SARS-CoV-2 detection test in 2020.
The laboratory opened in October last year at Hortus Botanicus in Barangay Milibili here.
The Roxas city government is aiming to have a quicker release of COVID-19 test results.
Before the laboratory was established here, test samples were sent to Iloilo.
The DOH-6 had earlier sent medical technologists to work on the laboratory here.*
