The Department of Health (DOH) launched the Bagong Urgent Care and Ambulatory Services (BUCAS) Center for Capiz at the new site of Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital (RMPH) in Roxas City.
“This launch underscores the unity and commitment of our local and national stakeholders,” DOH Secretary Teodoro Herbosa said.
Herbosa and Governor Fredenil Castro led the January 10, 2025 BUCAS Center launching, which was also the soft opening of RMPH’s Barangay Lanot site.
A Marcos administration program, the BUCAS Center aims to bridge the gap of services between rural health centers and hospitals.
The BUCAS Center is seen to augment services of the RMPH, especially for services of its outpatient department after daytime hours.
The DOH is also providing personnel and equipment for BUCAS Center operations.
The BUCAS Center has urgent healthcare services such as minor surgeries, X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, and ultrasound tests.
“Our mission is not merely to build a hospital, but to create a healthcare institution that serves the people of Capiz with empathy, compassion, and excellence,” said Dr. Florencio Luching, RMPH Hospital Chief.
