DSWD reactivates 58K householdbenes of 4Ps, to retroact benefits

THE Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) here has reactivated 58,360 households in the region as beneficiaries of its Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).

The reactivation of the 4Ps beneficiaries followed after the re-assessment of the 85,340 households that were initially identified as non-poor.

Belen Gebusion, head of the 4Ps of the DSWD 6, disclosed during the media forum held here on Oct. 23 that the province of Iloilo has the highest number of reactivated 4Ps households with 17,331; followed by Negros Occidental with a count of 15,311; Capiz with 13,723; Aklan has 6,034 beneficiaries; Antique with 3,433; and 2,528 for Guimaras.

Of the said total number, 60,116 were for reversion or retention in the program while 25,224 were for exit.

“DSWD 6 is currently processing to retroact the cash grant from January when it was put on hold up until the month of September this year,” Gebusion assured.

According to DSWD 6, the target release of the retroacted grants will be in December this year.

Meanwhile, she cited that those who were classified for exit are now being processed by the agency for transition and turnover to their respective LGUs for aftercare services.

To date, there are 369,242 active households in Western Visayas covered by the 4Ps.

From the number, 367,163 were classified under the Regular Conditional Cash Transfer (RCCT) while 2,079 were included in the Modified Conditional Cash Transfer (MCCT).

The MCCT was designed to reach out to families who are definitely poor, more vulnerable, and disadvantaged but are not covered by the RCCT because of their exclusion from the
enumeration of the National Household Targeting System (NHTS) or Listahanan.

The Listahanan is an
information management system that identifi es who and where the poor are, nationwide.

This was also made available to the national government agencies and other social protection stakeholders as a database of poor households, serving as the basis for identifying potential beneficiaries of social protection programs and services of a particular agency.
