ROXAS CITY – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in Region 6 recently turned over P9 million to residents of the First District in Capiz.

Of the figure, P2 million was allocated to Roxas City, P1.5 million to Panay, while the remaining amount will be for the municipalities of the district at P1 million each, Emmanuel “Jun” Billones Jr., chief political affairs officer of 1st District Rep. Emmanuel “Tawi” Billones, said.

Beneficiaries from Roxas City, Panitan, Pilar, and Pontevedra will get P4,000 each, while those in Maayon, Panay, and President Roxas would receive P3,000 each.

The total amount given was P10 million, Billones said, but they were advised by the DSWD to reserve a small amount for burial and medical assistance.

He added that beneficiaries were identified by the mayors.*
