DTI grants livelihood kits to FRs, calamity-hit survivors

THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Provincial Office in Roxas City has granted livelihood kits to 20 former rebels (FRs) and 44 calamity-hit survivors under its Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa (PPG) program.


The DTI-PPG is a livelihood seeding and entrepreneurship development initiative for micro-enterprises,
prioritizing areas damaged byfires and other natural calamities such as the pandemic, as well as individuals and businesses.


The PPG benefi ciaries received either a sari-sari store kit or a “Karenderya” kit worth
P15,000.00 each from the DTI.

These include 44 calamity- hit survivors composed of six survivors from Roxas City, and
12 from Panitan, eight from Tapaz, three from Mambusao, three from Pilar, three from Pontevedra, three from Sapian, two each from Dumalag and Maayon, and one each from Panay and Sigma towns.


Further, the 19 FRs from Maayon town and another one from Mambusao, also received some livelihood kits.


DTI Provincial Director Ken Queenie R. Cuñada highlighted the importance of community and military
collaboration for peace and development.


Cuñada added that the government is sincere in giving and delivering help to the Filipinos in need.


Alias “Boy,” a former FR, expressed his gratitude to the local government unit of Maayon and the DTI.


Boy also testifi ed that if he did not return to the government, he would not be able to send his children to school and would not be able to receive the benefits from the government.


Further, representatives from the Offi ce of Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, who were also present during the distribution, gave out free snacks and raffl e prizes to the beneficiaries.

In his video message, Sen. Go showed his gratitude to the DTI for the PPG program.


“Magtulungan lang po tayo, bukas lang po ang aking opisina at handang mag serbisyo
sa inyong lahat (Let us help one another, my offi ce is always welcome to serve all of you),”
