A FIRE ravaged three homes last March 18, 2024 in Sitio Sugod, Brgy. Salocon, Panitan.
Fire Officer 2 Erwin Valles, arson investigator of Panitan Municipal Fire Station, said P190,000 was
damaged to the properties of homeowners Donnel Villanueva, Gilda Alba and Josefina Villanueva.
The structures, constructed of mixed light materials, allowed the fire to spread rapidly.
Preliminary findings indicate the blaze originated in Villanueva’s kitchen, but the exact cause has yet to be
determined.
Assistance from Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) of Maayon and Pontevedra as well as members of Capiz
Citizens Action Group (CACAG) were crucial in putting out the fire.
