CAPIZ police director Colonel Laudemer Llaneta said that the “Duterte Legacy: BARANGAYanihan Caravan Towards National Recovery” is a manifestation of the government’s sincerity to bring various social services to the people in the countryside.
Llaneta led the Capiz Police Provincial Offi ce in the conduct of the caravan, October 29, in the covered gym of Barangay
Culasi, Roxas City.
He stressed that the initiative is in view of Pres. Rodrigo Duterte’s Executive Order No. 70 or the whole-of-nation approach
to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC). “It does not mean that there is an insurgency problem in Culasi but the village maybe prone to the influence of the
Communist Terrorist Groups based on a social investigation by the Philippine Army,” he said. The activity was graced by Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) provincial director John Ace Azarcon as guest of honor and speaker.
He officially declared the caravan open.
All the participants composed of marginalized fisherfolks and workers in the barangay were given food packs during the program.
The children beneficiaries of the “BARANGAYanihan” at the gym availed free haircut as well as dental service and dental
care kit, among others.
The activity also highlighted the service of caravan at the Dinggoy Roxas Civic Center (DRRC), here that was participated in by 18
national government agencies and Roxas City government
offices.
A free transportation was also facilitated by the CPPO from Culasi to DRCC for the interested villagers. (PIA Capiz)
