Heat stroke may have killed elderly

71-year-old man tragically died after falling from his motorcycle last March 23 in Roxas City.
The man known as “Tony” of Barangay Mongpong was quickly transported to Roxas
Memorial Provincial Hospital, but was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The Roxas City Police Station (RCPS) reported that the victim was traveling home on his Honda Beat motorcycle when the incident occurred around 1 pm, leading to speculation that heat stroke
caused his fall.
The doctor attending to Tony informed his family that he suffered a heart attack triggered by heat stroke. Records from weather bureau PAGASA indicated that the heat index of Roxas City at that time reached 39 degrees Celsius.
The victim’s motorcycle is now at the police station awaiting proper disposition.
